Hardware Update October 2022
The good news for the whole community is that shipping continues to speed up. The companies responsible for getting hardware into DIMO users’ hands — Digital Infrastructure Inc, AutoPi.io ApS, and CalChip Connect, Inc — are ramping up manufacturing, production, and provisioning, and while we’re a bit behind on estimates, the continued growth in shipments means DIMO Network is on a great path.
In October we cleared 1,000 units shipped in a month for the first time, a 266% increase since inventory first started landing at the warehouse in August. This brings us to a grand total of 2,082 devices shipped out of approximately 4,300 preordered.
One background project that is nearly complete is the onboarding of a new manufacturing partner in Poland, which will be making the AutoPi devices going forward. We’re running final tests on the devices from this new facility, and assuming all the devices pass, we’ll have expanded capacity to fulfill both existing orders and soon, new ones.
Below is an updated version of the shipping chart that we have published regularly with some tracking for our community to see how we’re doing against the goals we set in August.
We expect to open the store again in November, so if you have not yet ordered hardware or would like to buy more keep your eye out for updates. To get on the waitlist and sign up for notifications, add your car in the DIMO Mobile App.
